John William Shearer of Crawfordsville, Ind., died at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Murray W. Snell, 1801 Second avenue SE, at 8:30p,m, Monday following a brief illness. Mr. Shearer was born February 7, 1864, at Clay City, Ky. He had been visiting his daughter for the last four months. He was a member of the Christian church. Surviving in addition to Mrs. Snell are three other daughters, Mrs. Chester Ross and Mrs. Everett Caldwell of Crawfordsville and Miss Audrey Shearer of Keokuk; a son, Roscoe S. Shearer of Indianapolis, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Prayer services will be conducted in the Turner chapel at 8 p.m. Tuesday by a reader of the First Church of Christ, Scientist. The body will be taken to Crawfordsville for further services and burial. Friends may call at the chapel. – thanks to Kim H
